Scientific Research Context
What the published literature on Chonluten examines. These are findings about the compound in the studies cited, not claims about the supplied material.
Monocyte signalling and cytokines
In the human THP-1 monocyte line, Chonluten was reported to modulate MAP-kinase tyrosine phosphorylation and to reduce LPS-induced TNF. Across the five peptides tested, LPS-stimulated TNF and IL-6 expression in differentiated cells and THP-1 adhesion to LPS-activated HUVECs fell; Chonluten alone gave a slight TNF release and a higher apoptotic fraction. [in vitro, human cell line]
Rat gastric model
In a chemically induced gastric-injury model in rats, T-34 was reported to normalise mRNA expression of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory proteins. The abstract names no genes. [animal, rat]
A null result in skin explants
In skin explants from young rats, T-34 did not stimulate proliferation, while T-32, T-33, T-36 and T-38 did. [ex vivo, rat tissue]
Transporter docking
Docking predicted EDG to bind LAT1 (score -43.40), LAT2 and PEPT1, listing it among the best ligands of 26 ultrashort peptides. No transport was measured. [in silico]
Overview
In short: Chonluten (Glu-Asp-Gly, "EDG") is a three-residue synthetic peptide from the Khavinson bioregulator family, studied for cytokine and signalling markers in a monocyte cell line and for gene expression in a rat gastric model.
Key research facts
These points summarise lab themes, not human outcomes.
EDG is the last three residues of Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) and differs from Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg) only at the C-terminus. No paper found describes it as a fragment of Epitalon, so that relationship is a sequence observation. In the lab papers it carries the code T-34, set beside T-32 (Glu-Asp-Ala), T-33 (Glu-Asp-Arg), T-36 (Glu-Asp-Pro) and T-38 (Lys-Glu-Asp).
The best-described experiment is a 2022 study in the human THP-1 monocyte line. Chonluten was reported to modulate MAP-kinase tyrosine phosphorylation along with four other peptides and to reduce LPS-induced TNF production; the Results note that it alone gave a slight TNF release and a higher apoptotic fraction than the other four. In a rat gastric model, T-34 was reported to normalise mRNA expression of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory proteins. In skin explants from young rats it did not stimulate proliferation where four related tripeptides did.
It is supplied here as a lyophilised research powder for in-vitro and preclinical use. No analytical report for the supplied material has been published yet, so this page quotes no purity figure.
Proposed Mechanism
Chonluten is studied as an ultrashort peptide that may modulate inflammatory and antioxidant gene expression. The cell-line data show signalling and cytokine effects with some unexpected readouts; the mechanism itself is a hypothesis.
The Khavinson model proposes that ultrashort peptides are transported into cells and act on chromatin. For Chonluten the supporting measurements are signalling and cytokine readouts in one monocyte line, one rat abstract and docking scores. The literature is inconsistent on tissue pairing: the 2022 monocyte paper calls it derived from bronchial epithelial cells and a "synthetic bronchial bio-regulator" while using monocytes and endothelial cells only; the group's own 2022 review table lists it as a gastroprotector and stress protector, citing the gastric-model paper and the patent. The lung work in this family concerns Bronchogen.
Common Questions People Are Asking
What is Chonluten?
Chonluten is the name used for the synthetic tripeptide Glu-Asp-Gly (EDG), lab code T-34, in the Khavinson short-peptide literature. It is supplied here as a laboratory research powder only.
Which tissue is Chonluten matched to?
Sources disagree. One 2022 paper calls it a bronchial bio-regulator but tests it only in monocytes and endothelial cells; the group's own review table lists it as a gastroprotector and stress protector, citing a rat gastric paper and the patent. This page does not choose between them.
What does the research on Chonluten show?
In a human monocyte line it modulated MAP-kinase signalling and reduced LPS-induced TNF, though it alone gave a slight TNF release. A rat gastric abstract reports normalised antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mRNA, and in skin explants it did not stimulate proliferation. All of it is preclinical.
Is there a Certificate of Analysis for Chonluten?
Not yet. No independent analytical report has been published for this material, so no purity figure is quoted.
Is there human data on Chonluten?
No human study and no registered trial were found. Chonluten is sold strictly for in-vitro and preclinical research, not for human or veterinary use.
Where can I buy Chonluten?

Evidence Tier
Overall: Tier 3: Limited / anecdotal
Chonluten has a small preclinical record: one cell-line paper, one rat abstract, one explant paper with a null result for this peptide and one docking study. The tissue pairing is inconsistent across sources, there are no human data and no registry record, and none of the work has been replicated independently. It is supplied as unapproved laboratory material.

About Chonluten (EDG): Short-Peptide Bioregulator Research Guide
The tripeptide Glu-Asp-Gly was known well before the bioregulator work: the patent calls it prior art, and the MeSH vocabulary has carried it since 1980. What Khavinson and colleagues added was the application. The patent (US 8,071,556 B2) has a priority date of May 2006, and the first peer-reviewed papers on T-34 are from 2012.
The formula C11H17N3O8 and average mass of 319.27 Da here are computed from Glu-Asp-Gly and match the compound record. The "Chonluten" name is a trademark form in at least one paper.
New-U Research Compounds supplies Chonluten as a lyophilised research powder in sealed 10-vial packs of 20 mg vials. No analytical report for the supplied material has been published yet, and this page makes no purity or certificate claim. It is for in-vitro and preclinical research only and nothing here is medical advice.
