    Scientific Research Context

What the published literature on the components of Tesamorelin + Ipamorelin Blend examines. These are findings about each compound in the studies cited, not claims about the blend or the supplied material.

Published tesamorelin trial: HIV-associated abdominal adiposity (the approved medicine, not this material)

In a 26-week randomised, placebo-controlled trial of 412 people with HIV and abdominal fat accumulation, tesamorelin lowered visceral adipose tissue by 15.2% (placebo +5.0%), raised IGF-I by 81% (placebo -5%) and improved triglycerides and the cholesterol to HDL ratio. More people on tesamorelin withdrew for adverse events. [human, tesamorelin alone]

Published tesamorelin trial: HIV and hepatic fat (the approved medicine, not this material)

In 61 people with HIV and fatty liver disease, tesamorelin over 12 months reduced hepatic fat fraction by 4.1 percentage points more than placebo (a 37% relative reduction), with more administration-site complaints in the tesamorelin group. [human, tesamorelin alone]

    Ipamorelin: selective GH release

In rat pituitary cells, anaesthetised rats and conscious swine ipamorelin released growth hormone with a potency and efficacy comparable to GHRP-6, without the rise in ACTH and cortisol seen with GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, even at more than 200 times its GH-releasing ED50. [animal and in vitro]

    Two different receptors

Antagonist profiling placed ipamorelin's action at a GHRP-like receptor and not the GHRH receptor that tesamorelin targets, which is the reason the pair is of interest to study together. [in vitro and animal]

    Overview

In short: A research blend of tesamorelin and ipamorelin in three strengths (5 + 5, 10 + 4 and 10 + 5 mg per vial): a GHRH analogue and a selective ghrelin-receptor agonist in one vial.

    Key research facts

  • Two growth-hormone-axis research peptides in one vial, in three strengths
  • Strengths: 5 + 5 mg, 10 + 4 mg and 10 + 5 mg (10, 14 and 15 mg per vial)
  • Tesamorelin: GHRH(1-44) analogue with a trans-3-hexenoyl N-terminal modification
  • Ipamorelin: pentapeptide characterised as a selective growth hormone secretagogue
  • The ratio differs by strength and is shown beside each printed vial code
  • These points summarise lab themes, not human outcomes.

Tesamorelin is the better documented half of the pair. It is the 44-residue growth-hormone-releasing hormone sequence with a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminus, and a 2007 randomised trial in 412 people with HIV and abdominal fat accumulation, followed for 26 weeks, reported a 15.2% fall in visceral adipose tissue against a 5.0% rise on placebo and an 81% rise in IGF-I against a 5% fall. A 2019 trial in 61 people with HIV and fatty liver reported a 4.1-point absolute reduction in hepatic fat fraction at 12 months. Both are studies of tesamorelin alone, in specific patient groups, and neither is evidence about the supplied material or about a blend.

Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide, Aib-His-D-2Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, whose original characterisation in rat pituitary cells, rats and swine found GH release comparable to GHRP-6 with no rise in ACTH or cortisol beyond the GHRH-stimulated level, and an action at a GHRP-like receptor rather than the GHRH receptor. The two compounds therefore engage different receptors on the same cell type.

Unlike the other blends, the ratio here is not constant: TI10 is 5 mg of each, TI14 is 10 mg tesamorelin with 4 mg ipamorelin, and TI15 is 10 mg with 5 mg. No study of the fixed blend is cited. Supplied as lyophilised powder for in-vitro and preclinical research only.

  • Research class: Fixed two-compound research blend
  • Components: Tesamorelin + Ipamorelin
  • Vial strengths: 10 mg, 14 mg, 15 mg per vial, chosen from the pack-size menu
  • Research focus: Pituitary growth hormone release through the GHRH receptor and a ghrelin-type receptor
  • Evidence base: Randomised human trials of tesamorelin alone in HIV-related settings; animal and in-vitro data for ipamorelin; none on the blend
  • Proposed Mechanism

The blend has no combined mechanism. Tesamorelin is a GHRH-receptor agonist and ipamorelin a ghrelin-type receptor agonist, both acting on pituitary somatotrophs. Pairing them is a hypothesis about two receptors, not a demonstrated property of the vial.

Pathway Effect Why it matters GHRH receptor (tesamorelin) GHRH(1-44) analogue with an N-terminal modification Its trial results are the best-documented human data in this listing, and all concern tesamorelin alone Ghrelin-type receptor (ipamorelin) Releases GH through a GHRP-like receptor, not the GHRH receptor The second route the pair is chosen to engage IGF-I Raised 81% in the 26-week tesamorelin trial A downstream marker reported for tesamorelin alone No shared pharmacology Each component retains its own published pharmacology Interpret results per component, not for the pair Deeper dive for scientific readers

The tesamorelin trials were done in particular patient populations with the approved medicine and say nothing about a laboratory blend, about ipamorelin, or about the other strengths here. The ratio also changes between TI10, TI14 and TI15, so no single composition can be assumed across the menu. When a design needs one compound varied against the other, use the stand-alone tesamorelin and ipamorelin products.

    Common Questions People Are Asking

What strengths does the tesamorelin + ipamorelin blend come in?

Three, chosen from the pack-size menu: 10 mg per vial (5 mg tesamorelin + 5 mg ipamorelin, code TI10), 14 mg (10 + 4, TI14) and 15 mg (10 + 5, TI15). The ratio is not the same in each.

Is this the approved tesamorelin medicine?

No. Tesamorelin is the active ingredient of an approved prescription medicine for a specific condition, but the material supplied here is unapproved laboratory research material and is not that product.

Why are tesamorelin and ipamorelin paired?

They act on the same pituitary cell type through different receptors, tesamorelin at the GHRH receptor and ipamorelin at a ghrelin-type receptor. That is the rationale for studying them together. This page cites no study of the fixed blend.

Is there a Certificate of Analysis for this blend?

Not yet. No independent analytical report has been published for this material, so no purity figure is quoted. If one is published it will appear on this page and on our COA page.

Is there human data on this blend?

No study of the blend is cited. The human trials in the references are of tesamorelin alone in specific patient groups. This is laboratory research material, sold strictly for in-vitro and preclinical research and not for human or veterinary use.

About the Tesamorelin + Ipamorelin Blend: Research Guide

Tesamorelin and ipamorelin are both studied for how they drive pituitary growth hormone release, one through the GHRH receptor and the other through a ghrelin-type receptor. A single vial removes a weighing and reconstitution step for studies that call for both, and three strengths let the tesamorelin and ipamorelin amounts follow the design.

Tesamorelin is also the active ingredient of an approved prescription medicine for a specific condition. The material supplied here is laboratory research material and is not that product; the trials in the references are published findings about tesamorelin in those patients and are not claims about this blend or about use in anyone.

New-U Research Compounds supplies this blend as laboratory research material only. No analytical report for it has been published yet, so no purity figure is quoted. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
