Documenting bacteriostatic water shelf-life once opened

Handling/record-keeping question. Once a bacteriostatic water vial is opened, how are people documenting its usable window in their notes?

I date the vial on first puncture and log it. Curious what window others write down and what source they base it on. Purely about diluent record-keeping, not what it's mixed with.

I date the vial on first puncture and note the manufacturer's stated in-use window from the insert. Documenting the source of the window matters as much as the date itself — "per insert" beats "I think it's a month."

Same, plus I keep the insert photographed in the inventory so the stated window is attached to the batch. Bac water is the diluent, so its record-keeping deserves the same rigour as the compound's.
